Pilgrims from Asia

The hill of crosses has become an international destination for pilgrims. Even those from far continents like Asia have discovered this special place for the catholic cross. Pilgrims from Asia traveled to Lithuania to leave this small wooden cross with a not-so-ordinary crucifix. Thousands of crosses have been intentionally left by pilgrims from all over the world at the hill of crosses. It is now almost impossible to count or even give an estimate as to how many crosses are already on the hill. The last estimate was 55,000 chrystian crosses in 1990.

Thanks to the internet, the small but remarkable hill of crosses has now become popular worldwide. And with this, we can expect the numbr of crosses to escalate over the years.
